Non-impact printers today may be classified into inkjet or a laser printer. From where I’m from, the popular type of printer is the inkjet type. I personally use a Canon BJC3000 printer.

printer running costs can be extremely high. Whilst you might find a very cheap printer that fits the bill, you might find that the inkjet cartridges or the toner cartridges are almost as expensive as the printer itself. It is often more cost effective to buy a much more expensive with cheaper cartridges, and lower running costs.

This technology is pretty cool if you ask me! It has been used for quite a few years within the prototyping industry, engineering industries, product development industries, and concept idea development. There is a large variety of applications for this technology. 3D printing can work as long as someone is willing to create a 3D file on the computer as a blueprint. If that can be filled, pretty much anything can be created. Let me highlight one industry that is miraculously affected by the 3D printing industry.

Disadvantages: Shelf life of ink once it’s in the cartridge is less than ink in the bottle. While you definitely don’t want to unwrap a cartridge until you’re ready to install it, it’s drying out in the cellophane wrap. These are more expensive than the kits to 3d printer refill cartridges yourself.

In a black-and-white laser printer, the solution is to replace the toner cartridge. In a color laser printer, only replace the cartridge that is exhibiting the problem.

So here is the difference between value and price. Let’s say the cheapest printer (Printer C) saves you money, which it does, but its quality is poor. This causes you aggravation. Now let’s say Printer E is only a little bit more expensive than Printer C. But it never causes you any stress and in fact does a great job. A lot greater of a job than Printer C.Plus it is more durable and lasts longer. It’s worth it to pay a slightly more for a great benefit. That means that the value of Printer E is better than the value of Printer C.

Perhaps you have an interview coming up with a large corporation that may be hiring you. Of course you will print out your 2D portfolio to present, and this is very valuable. However, imagine handing your interviewer physical models of your best designs. Holding a visual model has the power to truly sell yourself, and your portfolio.

Operating large-format printers and ensuring that the printing workflow is going smoothly is not always an easy job. It can be a complicated process, and the people who are to handle this process in your company should be trained to deal with it efficiently. Otherwise, you will end up with botched print jobs, wasted resources and a bogged down printer. Also, do not always believe the ads that you see about large-format printers. As we all know, the reality is always different from what ads want us to believe.
