Keep the environment in mind when you are at your campsite. Enjoying nature is one of the main benefits of camping, so it is important to respect the Earth. Throw away all your trash, and don’t get too rowdy. You can even bring along a solar-powered device if you have one to use.

Write down a list of your necessary items before heading out on a camping excursion. This is critical if you are going to be covering some ground before getting to the spot where you pitch your tent. Start packing a couple of days in advance of camping, making sure to follow a checklist.

Wrap up your fishing gear, like line and lures, in plain old aluminum foil! This will keep everything from tangling up and if you do it properly, water proofed as well. Foil will also prevent rust from ruining your valuable fishing gear, so make it part of your camping trip every time.

Learn how to use a compass or read a map, beforehand. Although the camp site may be a familiar one, there may have been changes since your last visit and you could still get lost. This can help you to avoid getting lost or falling into a dangerous situation.

Talk to everyone in your next camping party about the health of their backs. Some might not be able to sleep on hard ground or need more than a standard mat or cushion. Also, portable or foldable stools might be needed around the campfire, as constant standing or sitting on the ground is not good for their spine.

If you’re outside in cold weather, keep warm by wearing layered clothing. Not only, can adding more layers make you warmer, but you can easily remove layers if the temperature rises later. Don’t forget the sunscreen. You might not burn easily, or ever, but sunscreen is still important to prevent sun damage, especially when you are spending most of the day outdoors. Sun damage can age you rapidly and even cause cancer, so it is very important to protect your skin.
